Throwback Thursday: Some of You Will Be Able to Hear This Photo
December 19, 2019
Here I am in my junior year of high school (1978/79), working in the yearbook office. We’d type the copy and crop the photos with grease pencil and do layout sheets on special gridded paper and collect groups of pages done this way into packages that we’d mail to our publisher/printer several times during the year. Most of the photos were in black and white, like this one, because color was expensive. I wonder how things are done these days … all online, I suppose.

I grew up absolutely loving typewriters. We had an old manual typewriter and an old electric.
I worked on my college newspaper in the late 90s, and it wasn’t totally digital yet, but it was pretty close. We put it together on the computer but had to print it out and put it all together with the photos. I’m sure it’s gotta be 100% digital by now.
