Monday, September 16: End of another day on the mountain. The storage box for the ongoing renovation across the street is still there. The rec district van that runs the bike shuttle on weekends is parked until it’s time comes to work again. Work trucks in front of the building belong to the guys renting the place next door while they do a project in the area. Despite all that visual clutter, the view over the valley continues to be entrancing, especially at twilight.
Tuesday, September 17: Spent some time at the studio before driving down to the city to spend the evening with friends. The lumberyard next door is filling up with logs again as they get harvested before the snow falls.
Wednesday, September 18: Went out sailing. I continue to be uncomfortable when it tips more than 10 or 15 degrees, though I do better when I’m out in the cockpit rather than in the cabin.
Thursday, September 19: Mr. Bing seemed excited for me to try a stir fry recipe I found on the internet. My first impression was there were too many ingredients and too many steps, and the website was super annoying in that it kept jumping back to the top of the page when I went to look for the next thing I needed to do. It tasted okay, though, and I made notes about what I’d want to change next time, when I hoped it would be less difficult to do all the things with all the ingredients.
Friday, September 20: Quiet day at home, with a visitor out the back window.
Saturday, September 21: Popped on the latest set of fake nails. They’re a bit too short to properly cover my natural nails, but I like the shimmer and shift in these so much I’m willing to ignore that. I bought a few spare pairs of this set so I can put off feeling sad at running out of them.
Sunday, September 22: My college-era backpack that I take on day hikes is wearing out, so I grabbed the chance to get this purple on at the back to school clearance at the grocery store. I’m sure it won’t last decades like the old one, but I may not be doing day hikes that long either.
