A Week in Photos: 2024, Part 48

December 21, 2024

Monday, November 25: Drove home across Washington state. Parts of the drive were quite foggy, like this stretch where I couldn’t see the highway from the rest area I stopped at. (Contrast with the view when Mr. Karen and I stopped there back in October.)

Snow covered field with scrubby bushes and a white out foggy sky.

Tuesday, November 26: This snowperson was hanging out in the loading dock when I went to get the mail.

Wooden cutout of a snowperson wearing a black beret and scarf with holes cut through where the buttons would be. Leaning against a post in a loading dock.

Wednesday, November 27: First ski day of the season. Bit of ice fog to deal with but good to be out there this early.

Me from the shoulders up wearing ski clothes including plum helmet and goggles. Fine sheen of ice on the helmet and edges of the goggles. Ski rack and ski slope behind me.

Thursday, November 28: Celebrated Thanksgiving by going to one of the fancy restaurants in the village for a prix fix Harvest Dinner. The cushions next to the fireplace there made me think of pancakes. I did make a big pan of stuffing and a huckleberry pie for us to snack on at home, since those are my favorite parts of any holiday meal.

Gas fireplace behind glass with glass rocks. Three round tan flattish cushions rest on the black ledge in front of the fire.

Friday, November 29: Time to re-blue my hair, but first a bare faced selfie showing the before.

Me, a sixtysomething white woman, looking into the camera. Wearing a dark print fleece robe and my long hair is pulled forward to fall down on either side of my bare face. It's white grey at the roots and faded blue and grey on the length.

Saturday, November 30: Current state of the mountain; this is way more snow than we had this time last year. (Oh, and my hair turned out like this.)

Looking through a window at a ski mountain in winter. There's a bare tree in the foreground on the left side and snow covered ski runs on the mountain across the way.

Sunday, December 1: Enjoyed this super clear day when I could see the Cabinet mountains across the way.

Looking out a window across a snow covered street. There's a tall pine tree on the other side of the road on a vacant lot in between two houses. In the valley beyond, sunlight hits a range of snow topped mountains.
