A Week in Photos: 2025, Part 11

March 25, 2025

Monday, March 10: I took no photos, just screenshots, of which this meme is my favorite.

Man wearing a ship's officer uniform standing in front of a sun with a face painted on the wall. The gold stripes on the man's epaulets look like the sun has hands on the man's shoulders.

Tuesday, March 11: Walked down to the village to get the mail. It’s quiet after the lifts close, empty but for the groomer heading up one of the runs.

Base of a ski resort an hour or so after closing. The lift corrals are cleared out for the night, no people in sight, a grooming machine can be seen near the bottom of one of the runs.

Wednesday, March 12: Bit damp and foggy out on the slopes this day.

Me in my ski gear standing at the base of the ski resort. The run behind me is obscured by fog. My goggle and helmet and jacket collar are spotted with spots of water where snow has melted.

Thursday, March 13: As many curves and dropoffs as the mountain road has, and as many folks who drive it in winter conditions, I’m surprised at how few accidents there are. There are some, of course, and this time one of the resort shuttle buses was involved. When I was heading down to town, I had to stop for the first recovery attempt, which was unsucessful, so they let us go through before they tried again. They did get the bus out before I came home several hours later.

View out my windshield after I was halted by a flagger on the mountain road. There's a navy security pickup in front of me, a small tow truck parked across the road in front of that, a blue bus partly slid off the road on the right, and a large tow truck barely visible behind the small one, downhill from the bus.

Friday, March 14: I did go skiing, and it was less wet than the other day, but the more important thing was kicking off my birthday week celebration with one of the two cakes that Mr. Karen got for me. I was gracious and shared with him.

Two-layer round cake with about a quarter missing. The frosting is light blue with sprinkles of pink, blue, white, and green covering the sides. The cake itself is pink and turquoise marble.

Saturday, March 15: Birthday week flowers from Mr. K.

Flowers in shades of pink, purple, and green in a glass vase sitting on a wooden table.

Sunday, March 16: Went to a friend’s house in the country and got to see their horses and llamas (and dogs and cat). This particular horse was disappointed that I had no treats to offer, but did let me pet their nose anyway.

Light brown horse with black mane and markings, reaching head over a wire fence.
