A Week in Photos: 2025, Part 13

April 14, 2025

Monday, March 24: New Coke flavor (Orange Cream) dropped and of course I had to try it. I like it. I wish they’d do some oddball flavors that aren’t so sweet (lavender Coke anyone?) but realize those probably wouldn’t be popular.

My hand holding a can of Orange Cream Coke Zero. Can is orange on top transitioning to red at the bottom.

Tuesday, March 25: Noticed the art on the window of the parking attendant shelter as I walked by coming home from the village. Not sure what’s up with the jellyfish, other than jellyfish are cool.

Window with a green frame and pictures drawn on the glass with white marker: a smiling mountain looks at a smiling jellyfish.

Wednesday, March 26: Gorgeous sky at the studio.

Bright blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds.

Thursday, March 27: I was apparently too wrapped up in packing for my upcoming trip to take any photos, but I did screenshot this tweet (?) about eating cheese in the darkness that spoke to me. It was somewhat complicated packing, having to have a road bag, a cruise bag, a Disney World bag, and clothes for a wedding, most of which would be left in Florida for three weeks with no good opportunity for doing laundry.

Screenshot of a tweet from Katie Chironis @kchironis: I was trying to get my 2yo to nap on vacation so I offered her a cheddar square to nibble on and then said 'let's lie down on our cot and read a book in the nice quiet darkness together' since then she has been asking to 'eat cheese in the darkness'

Friday, March 28: Mr. Karen and I left the mountain on a misty morning in two cars. We drove west first to drop my car at the airport in Spokane before driving east in his to start our latest vacation. Stopped for the night in Bozeman, Montana, which is more expensive than options before and after it but the timing didn’t work out to take advantage of those.

Saturday, March 29: All day on the road, ending up in Ogalla, Nebraska via Wyoming, where they don’t mess around when building their rest area stall walls. The rock composition varied, but the concrete slab in heavy metal frame construction was similar in both of the ones we stopped at.

Stalls in a rest area bathroom constructed from pebbled stone panels inset in heavy metal frames.

Sunday, March 30: Another long day on the road, though not quite as long as the day before. Stopped in Wentzville, Missouri rather than trying to push through St. Louis in the dark while tired from driving all day. I’m jaded enough that I don’t rush to take photos of every Sinclair dinosaur we come across, but this one was right by the door with no one around it so I could be bothered. Don’t recall where exactly this was.
